The weather in Abilene was chilly today, but it's been a long time since I felt this warm. Something about family and old friends.
Lunch was spent at Chili's with Bob, Jan, and Jackie Beth; three of my all-time favorite people.
Dinner was excellent not because of the spicy corn mush or the salt-injected beans, but because of the company. The Reeves crew and the Balfour grandparents went to Sharon's BBQ for some brisket. Ben wore a pirate eye patch the entire time we were in the restaurant and got glances from every visitor there. We spoke too loudly, were too expressive with our bodies, and fellowshipped deeply.
There is something about God himself being in community that makes sense for us here on earth. I definitely understand that community sometimes gets sticky and un-fun, however tonight I was privaleged to experience the fun side.
I wish upon all the joys of a community fully committed to eachother and God.
p.s. My hairline is receding.

Luke,
I felt community in a high school reunion-ish group tonight. Best feeling I know of... loving community.
I wore my motorcycle helmet inside my truck while I was teaching my step-brother to drive a stick. Needless to say that I got a few looks.
If your hair keeps receeding I will let you borrow my helmet. Chicks dig it!
Peace,
J-Red
welcome to the club luke, i've been receding for awhile. don't be a metro man and go get rogaine or propetia or implants. just accept it for the way i see it, God has blessed us with it...

I am happy to say my hairline is still fully intact. Happy holidays Luke, continue to enjoy the fellowship as I know you will! See you in a few weeks!
