Back from a great weekend. Crap's beginning to hit the fan at the close of the semester, so don't be surprised if I publish more than regularly in the coming weeks.
As usual, Jig invented a terrific game for us to play this weekend. I call it Tyrannomopoly. 4 combatants, 1 ball, 1 bucket, 2 converging slip-n-slides, 14 bruises on my two knees. Here's a bit of photo evidence:

Melanin: The Mark of a Champion
I took my first sunburned shower of 2008. Remember how awesome those are?
My roommate Trey Watten represented ACU Baseball pitching a complete game yesterday with 11 K's against 10th ranked Central Oklahoma. The weather was too nice to go inside after that, and although I could have put sunscreen on, I decided to wait until dark so as not to miss a single moment of daylight.

Bring on the Music
Big weekend for music, Blahglievers. Brother Ben is hosting Sing Song this weekend here in Abilene, and tonight I'm making the trek to One World Theater in Austin to see one of my all time favorite artists Greorge Winston. The 3.5 hour drive will be an audio mosh pit of solo piano awesomeness:

Drink of the Day
After a weekend of freezing in Belton, I was thrilled to learn that the frigid air had taken 36 west to Abilene behind me. Yesterday it was too cold to push a button, so the Blahgarazzi were sent out on location at 2025 Lincoln to record the madness. Check out the 'Ice in Abilene' album.

I love coffee. I love to drink it. I love to talk about it while drinking it. In fact right now I'm having some. My own special recipe: One part amaretto creamer, two parts hot cocoa mix, two cups coffee. I call it a Caldera. If you don't get it, read the first sentence here.
I just read an article about a fancy coffee machine, the owners of which would certainly scoff if a coffee pariah like me ever entered their shop and asked for a Caldera. I quote from the article:
“Siphon coffee is very delicate,” he said. “It’s sweeter and juicier, and the flavors change as the temperature changes. Sometimes it has a texture so light it’s almost moussey.”
What's the secret ingredient, Radium? The last time I heard of a solution that changed chemical and physical states on a whim was when the DEA raided Bob Barker's medicine cabinet in an effort to discover the reason for his 215 year life span. If you think I'm being cruel to Bob, think again. Warning: gruesome image ahead if you follow that link.

Weekend Warrior
Welcome back Community of Blahglievers. It was a full weekend: Graduate Student Association Christmas Banquet on Friday- accomplishing the political schmoozing required for reelection; Highland Luncheon on Saturday- achieving the self-discipline required to choke down the giblet gravy; Mom's almost surprise birthday party on Sunday- summoning the humility required to accept the blame for the unpalatability of the "fruit tea punch" I helped destroy.
Happy birthday mom; it's weird to think that you had me when you were ten.

Hello and Good Monday to you Blahg-lievers. Spirits are high today on the heels of one of my favorite actors' accomplishments last night. Jeremy Piven, as Ari Gold in HBO's Entourage, won Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series and nobody deserves it more. Watch the show- if you don't love him, you have no soul.

A long overdue cricket update: The Old Stacians haven't exactly had a stellar season, but the Blahg Staff still supports them. Our two teams boast records of 5-7-4 and 7-19-2, which might not get them to the 'ship, but at least they're not...ok fine, those records plain suck.
In other cricket news, Pakistan (friend of the Blahg) is still ahead of India (baby-eaters) in the ICC ODI Championship Rankings.
