Things I learned last week in Colorado

I'm not amused, originally uploaded by LukeReeves.

  1. Mrs. Winegeart is the iron chef.
  2. Life's better with family.
  3. How to play forty-two.
  4. How to lose at forty-two.
  5. When one brother throws up twice in one night, and another brother throws up 13 times that same night, you shouldn't sleep on the floor between their beds.
  6. Get ski boots that fit or else your big toe nail might fall off.
  7. Robert McCall is the Jackie Chan of skiers; he does all his own stunts, and he does them big.
  8. Going a week without cell phone reception wasn't difficult at all.
  9. Ender's Game is awesome.

Jobs unveils the iBackofhand

SAN FRANCISCO- In a frenzy of flashbulbs and social anxiety disorder, Steve Jobs took the stage at Macworld Expo '08 to unveil Mac's newest technologies and products. A laptop that's less than one inch thick. Location ability without the use of GPS. But the best and most useful of the new products announced is the all new iBackofhand. This innovative piece effectively eliminates writing on the back of your hand with a pen.

Need to make an appointment? Put it in your iBackofhand. Need to make a note? Reach for your iBackofhand. Need a date? Get rid of your iBackofhand.

Analysts expect the first round of software upgrades in late May at the Macuniverse Expo, scheduled to be held on the moon. " I hope it really is made of cheese!" said Jobs "that was thinking behind the location selection. I guess we'll find out together."

Television eats souls

Yesterday, in a Lectureship class, I heard an eyebrow-raising quote:
"The death of Christ is not necessary for the forgiveness of sins."-Dr. Mark Love

Transition

Last night found 2025 Lincoln Drive celebrating the first weekly Roommate Night at the Sardine (the name of our house- there are 7 occupants). Congregating in the freshly-cleaned and newly-accessorized living room, we turned off the tv and just spent time together. Seriously, we had a ball. No agenda. We threw darts and talked. It was embarrassing to think of how often we had been in the same room at the same time, but the main reason for congregating was the television. Thanks to Giroshima for cooking a delicious dinner. I look forward to next week.
I also look forward to seeing old friends this weekend for Bid Night. Safe travels everyone.
